Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis

I offer psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and consultation in Greenwich Village / NoHo. I work with adults and adolescents, in person and remotely.

Originally trained as a historian, I was a tenured faculty member at NYU for many years; I’m now affiliated with the DeWitt Wallace Institute of Psychiatry, an interdisciplinary research unit at Weill Cornell Medical College. I have been guest faculty at the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute and the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. I’m also a Fellow of the New York Institute for the Humanities, and serve on its board of directors. I received my B.A. from Brown, my Ph.D. in History from Stanford, and my clinical training from the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR), with additional training through the Melanie Klein Trust.
