I offer psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to adults, young adults, and adolescents. I also consult on problems that arise in college, graduate school, and faculty life. My office is in Greenwich Village.
I’m on the faculties of the Columbia Psychoanalytic Center and the DeWitt Wallace Institute of Psychiatry, an interdisciplinary research unit at Weill Cornell Medical College. I have also taught at Princeton and NYU, where I was a tenured professor of the history and theory of communication for many years. I received my B.A. from Brown, my Ph.D. in History from Stanford, and my clinical training from the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR), with additional training through the Melanie Klein Trust.
